MDDN 243 - Game Project
For this project design students partnered up with a computer science student to conceptualise and develop a 2D game in Unity. Me and my partner came up with a puzzle platformer titled Johnathan the HyperDriver
You play as an inexplicably nonplussed otter, who has been genetically created by an evil scientist to test his new world domination devices.

The core mechanics are basic running and jumping as well as new abilities that are introduced throughout the game. The first mechanic that is introduced is hyperspeed which allows the player to slow down the surrounding environment whilst they move normal speed, allowing them to traverse timed levels.

The second mechanic is a gravity changing device that is a powerup for hyperspeed. When the player’s head touches the ceiling whilst they are in hyperspeed their gravity changes and they can now walk on the roof. This allows for more advanced level design and allows the player to explore the maps more.

The core loop is completing each stage and gaining new abilities.
I created the 2D assets, backgrounds and sprite sheets for the game
